As one of the USDA's priority pests for 2021, the leafminer moth Tuta absoluta poses a danger to tomato and other solanaceous crops in Guam and worldwide. The University of Guam monitors 10 sites with solanaceous plants, including tomato, eggplant, and chili pepper, twice a month to ensure early detection and rapid response if they are detected.
