Infrared View of Tropical Storm Murjan (IMAGE) NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center Caption The AIRS instrument aboard NASA's Aqua satellite captured infrared imagery of Tropical Storm Murjan on Oct. 25 at 1017 UTC (6:17 a.m. EDT) that showed some strong thunderstorms (purple) over Cape Guardafui, Somalia. Those thunderstorms are reaching high into the troposphere where cloud top temperatures are as cold as -63 Fahrenheit (-52 Celsius).
