An estimate of rainfall totals from Dec. 31, 2015 to Jan. 6, 2016 was made using data from NASA's IMERG for a series of storms showed highest rainfall totals over the eastern Pacific Ocean (purple) more than 4.5 inches (114.3 mm) and highest totals near Lake Tahoe and the west central Nevada border (red) over 4 inches (101.6 mm).
