Miniature Fly X Chromosomes in Mice (IMAGE)

The Akhtar lab could recreate mini fly X chromosomes by supplementing mouse cells with fly MSL2 and roX RNA. These appeared as foci (right panel), which bear similarity to the MSL complex-covered X-chromosome territories seen under native conditions in male flies (left panel).
