On March 7 at 2141 UTC (4:41 p.m. EST) the AIRS instrument aboard NASA's Aqua satellite found some cloud top temperatures in Enawo near 210 kelvin (minus 81.6 degrees Fahrenheit/minus 63.1 degrees Celsius), indicating very strong storms (purple).
