Zhaochu Luo, Hauptautor der Studie, vor einer sogenannten Sputter-Depositions-Apparatur. In der Vorrichtung werden die Schichten aus Platin, Kobalt und Aluminiumoxid erzeugt. Jede Schicht ist nur wenige Nanometer dünn.
