本研究で新しく開発された触媒CeO2/MnFeOyは、高い酸素放出速度と大量の酸素貯蔵能力の両方を有する。 窒素酸化物、一酸化炭素、全炭化水素を有害物質の少ない物質へ転化する能力は高く、希土類元素セリウムの使用量が30%少ないにもかかわらず、既存の基準触媒に匹敵した。
