Thomas Smyth, Ph.D. student in the College of Computing at Georgia Tech, completed a study of users of mobile phones in India and found that users can devise new and innovative uses for mobile phones, if they have sufficient motivation. He found that in addition to calling and texting, most people used their phones for transferring media files via Bluetooth, a difficult and cumbersome process.
