University of Utah psychology professor David Strayer led new studies showing how in-vehicle, voice-activated systems to make calls, tune the radio, receive and send texts, navigate and perform other tasks can seriously distract motorists from paying attention to the road. The new research was sponsored by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.
