Ebola Virus Infection (IMAGE)
Caption
This drawing illustrates the sequence of events from the time Ebola virus first enters the host cell (at top) until the virus gains its release into the cytoplasm, where it can multiply (at bottom). Einstein researchers have shown that Ebola exits the lysosome and enters the cytoplasm by interacting with NPC1 protein molecules (orange) embedded in the lysosomal membrane.
