Zika Virus Highjacks the Endomembrane System (IMAGE)
Caption
In a new study in the journal Molecular & Cellular Proteomics, researchers at the University of Toronto report a global interactome between Zika virus proteins and human host proteins. Their proximity proteomics approach gives unprecedented insight into interactions involving membrane-embedded proteins. This image (from a separate study) shows Zika virus particles in red, within the endomembrane system of African green monkey kidney cells.
