Studying Cathepsin Levels (IMAGE)
Caption
Manu Platt (left), an associate professor in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University, and graduate student Keon-Young Park, produce high-quality images from the gels shown to quantify cathepsin activity. In a new study, the researchers are studying levels of cathepsins and other signaling chemicals in an effort to predict the invasiveness of breast cancer in individual patients.
