Three UWM physics faculty members -- Peter Schwander (left), Marius Schmidt and Abbas Ourmazd -- contributed to an experiment that captured, for the first time, images of a photo-sensitive protein changing shape after exposure to light. Former UWM post-doc Kanupriya Pande is the first author and three UWM graduate students were co-authors: Jason Tenboer, Christopher Kupitz and Jennifer Brayshaw.
