Tag Teaming to Relay Light Information (IMAGE) Boston Children's Hospital Caption This is a depiction of how M1 ganglion cell photoreceptors are tuned to light intensity by depolarization block. The different colors indicate signaling by different individual M1 cells. When the light intensity rises beyond a certain range, the cells enter depolarization block and go stop firing spikes. They then recover when the light intensity falls. Credit Elliott Milner and Michael Do, Boston Children's Hospital. Used with permission from Cell.
