Caption
Coral reefs are quickly degrading, hurting coastal communities that depend on the goods and services provided by reef environments. 2015 Pew marine fellow Josh Cinner, a professor at James Cook University, has an innovative answer: learning lessons from the world's coral "bright spots."
Cinner is one of five distinguished scientists and conservationists from Canada, Australia, Russia, and the United Kingdom to be named a 2015 recipient of the Pew fellowship in marine conservation.
