Changhuei Yang's lab at Caltech has developed a new microscope setup (left) that converts a relatively inexpensive conventional microscope into a billion-pixel imaging system that significantly outperforms the best available standard microscope. A raw image taken with a 2X objective lens is shown (top right) along with the reconstructed image produced by the new microscope setup (bottom right).
