・おとめ座方向に今回発見された新しい衛星銀河 Virgo I の位置 (左)。

右図は赤経・赤緯それぞれ 0.1 度角における、Virgo I に含まれる恒星の 密度分布。青→白→黄→赤となるに従って恒星の密度が高くなっています。Virgo I の恒星は、図４の緑の帯に位置するものから選んでいます。
