Growing up in poverty, having a parent die, being physically or sexually abused and other adverse childhood experiences have been linked to health problems in older people, but now researchers at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis have found that those adverse experiences in early childhood can be connected to mental and physical health problems in kids as young as 9.
