Snapshots of a Moving Polymer Molecule (IMAGE)
Caption
The images taken over time (s = seconds) show how the molecule moved and rearranged. In previous experiments of this kind, the molecules were chemically fixed, so movement was not visible. This is the first time that the movement of single molecules, without any metal or dye to enhance their visibility, was observed under an electron microscope.
