Columbia Glacier Calving (IMAGE)

USGS photographers captured a dramatic submarine calving event from grounded terminus of Columbia Glacier, June 17, 2005. The berg moving rapidly in a vertical direction, and rotated back against the calving face. The height of the ice cliff is approximately 70 meters (230 feet).
