Today, University of Illinois scientist Amanda De Souza highlighted a crop of inequality called cassava at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's third annual Goalkeepers event in New York City. Recently, De Souza and colleagues published a study in New Phytologist that identified opportunities to improve cassava yields -- which have not increased for more than fifty years.
