FAU Researchers Find New Mechanism Cells Use to Eat Each Other Before They Become Toxic (IMAGE)
Caption
Phagocytosis by lens epithelial cells is shown. Lens epithelial cells were found to phagocytize fluorescent labeled latex beads, a widely-used non-degradable material. The image was taken using confocal microscopy, cells were fed beads and fluorescently stained for the cytoskeletal protein α-tubulin (white). In this image the latex beads appear white with a green outline.
