Physicians image the left atrium of the heart, divide it up in different segments (each colored box) and compared how in-sync these regions are. Those people with left atriums more out-of-sync when the heart relaxes aren't likely to benefit from the procedure versus those with in-sync atriums who would be likely candidates for a successful procedure.
