University of Alberta lab uncovers new mechanism of action against SARS-CoV-2 by antiviral drug remdesivir

UAlberta virologist Matthias Götte was part of a research team that discovered a second way the antiviral drug remdesivir works against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Götte says understanding how the drug works is key to developing further treatments against the virus.
