Caption
ASU professors Lynda Williams and Rajeev Misra, together with Williams' former doctoral student Keith Morrison (not pictured), discovered how naturally occurring blue and green clays have antibacterial properties. The NanoSIMS instrument, managed by Maitrayee Bose (right), produced images showing how elements in the clays attack microbes.
