We connected an artificial mechanosensory nerve to biological motor nerves of a cockroach leg as in Fig. 3B to make a hybrid reflex arc. A pressure onto the artificial mechanosensory nerve generates outputs. The outputs from the artificial mechanosensory nerve stimulate the disabled cockroach leg, which leads to the actuation of the leg.
