Images showing increased lumican (indicated in red) in human lungs with pulmonary fibrosis, using lung tissue sections from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or pulmonary fibrosis patients that are stained with anti-lumican antibodies. The left image represents a section from a COPD patient with forced vital capacity (FVC) greater than 80 percent, while the right is a section from an idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) patient with FVC less than 50 percent. The bar is 0.2 millimeters.
