This is the small island of Soay in the Scottish St. Kilda Archipelago. The study species, Soay sheep, is a primitive breed of domestic sheep (Ovis aries) descended from a feral population on this island. This image relates to an article appearing in the July 2, 2009 issue of Science Express, published by AAAS. The study, by Dr. A. Ozgul of Imperial College London in Berkshire, UK and colleagues was titled, "The Dynamics of Phenotypic Change and the Shrinking Sheep of St. Kilda."
