In an analysis of 136 common plant species in the U.S. and Europe, researchers noted that plants' sensitivity to urbanization varied by species. The tulip tree, Liriodendron tulipifera, pictured here, is more sensitive to high population density and temperature change compared with the white oak, Quercus alba.
