SMART iPhone Bots (IMAGE)
Caption
Teachers and fellows work with robots that are controlled by an iPhone that was programmed to become a controller in the NYU Tandon School of Engineering Mechatronics Lab. The summer SMART program helps teachers improve their research and teaching skills so that they can engage young students in STEM lessons using kid-friendly robots. Left to right: Jeffrey Bernhardt, computer science teacher at Lynbrook (NY) High School; Irina Igel, graduate student in mechanical engineering and AMPS/CBSI fellow; and Lindrick Outerbridge, robotics teacher at Philippa Schuyler Middle School IS 383.
