Changes in the Larsen-B Ice Shelf (IMAGE) McGill University Caption A glacier on the rapidly warming Antarctic Peninsula meets the Weddell Sea, where portions of the Larsen-B Ice Shelf had previously been prior to partial collapse. Studies have shown the collapse of portions of the Larsen-B Ice Shelf was due to surface warming and that its collapse resulted in greatly accelerated flow of the glaciers it had buttressed in the Weddell Sea.
