Cell-Entering Molecules Detect Activity of Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen (IMAGE)
Caption
Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen (PCNA) is a key protein in DNA replication and repair. During the DNA synthesis phase (S-phase) PCNA is recruited to sub-nuclear sites of DNA replication forming distinctive patterns over time that characterize different S-phase stages. Simulations on TACC's Stampede supercomputer helped researchers understand these processes.
