University of Oregon oceanographer David Sutherland led an effort that investigated hypoxic conditions in the Coos Bay estuary on the southern Oregon coast. Dangerous low levels of oxygen have not been a problem to date, but warmer temperatures and reduced rainfall inland could change the picture.
