Rice University physicist Ching-Hwa Kiang, left, and alumna Sithara Wijeratne led a study to determine the mechanical properties of graphene nanoribbons in solution. They found the nanoribbons mimic the properties of natural polymers like proteins and DNA and may be suitable for biomimetic applications.
