Microwave Measurement of Topological Edge States (IMAGE)
Caption
a, Schematic of the experimental setup. The top plate contains cylindrical holes in square lattice. The probe and source dipole antennas (1 and 2) are inserted into the waveguide through these holes. Three sides of the waveguide are wrapped with metal walls acting as perfect electric conductor (PEC) boundaries. The other side is covered by microwave absorbers. b-e, Measured |Ez| field distribution in photonic lattices. The topological edge states persist from crystalline PTI to amorphous PTI (Glass-like 2).
