Schematic of Proposed Method to Alter the Toxicity of Outer Membrane Vesicles

The first goal is to systematically characterize the lipid components and membrane properties of outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) that are necessary for toxin association. The second phase wil be an investigation of the role of these toxins in the delivery of the OMVs to the target cell. With this information,the third goal is to alter the membrane properties to inhibit toxin binding and OMV toxicity.
