Colorful Films Created with Nanoparticles of Synthetic Melanin (IMAGE)

Chemists synthesized nano particles of synthetic melanin and dried them into thin films to create a range of pure hues from red to green. The physical arrangement of the particles, rather than different kinds of pigments, determines the colors.
