Crystal Structure and Emission Properties Change with Environment (IMAGE)
Caption
The crystal structure of the blue-emitting halide perovskite changes with heating from room temperature, 300 Kelvin, to 450 Kelvin, the typical operating temperature of an electronic device. The structural change alters the wavelength of light, changing it from blue to blue-green, an unacceptable instability in electronics.
