The green laser is the traditional method that can be used to measure the light deflection, left. By providing the red laser, researchers also get a 3-D image that can subjectively account for a variety of particle shapes, middle. The SEM image on the right is from an electron microscope that is a representative particle like the one providing the left and middle image.
