A Genetically Encoded Light-inducible CaMKII Inhibitor, paAIP2 (IMAGE)
Caption
This is a schematic of paAIP2. LOV2-Jα domain derived from phototropin1 was fused to autocamtide-2 related inhibitory peptide 2 (AIP2). The blue light absorption causes a reversible conformational change of LOV2 domain, leading to dissociation of the Jα helix-AIP2. The structurally released AIP2 binds to the kinase domain of CaMKII and inhibits its kinase activity.
