Giant nonlinear signal observed in twisted WSe2 (IMAGE)
Caption
The nonlinear Hall signal shows a sharp peak when the first moiré valence band is half-filled (Filling = 0.5 shown in the left figure). The corresponding generation efficiency is at least two orders of magnitude greater than those obtained in non-twisted systems (right figure). This giant signal can be understood from the observed mass-diverging-type continuous Mott transition near half-filling.
