UNIST and LG Electronics sign MOU to strengthen industry-academia linkages

UNIST and LG Electronics Inc. have signed a new agreement for industry-academic cooperation, further strengthening their collaboration in joint research and human resource development. This follows their previous industry-academic cooperation agreement signed in 2020.
The new agreement includes the establishment of an Industry-Academic Cooperation Center that will serve as a control tower overseeing jointly operated research and development programs, as well as talent training initiatives. The center aims to integrate UNIST’s academic and research infrastructure with LG Electronics’ support to discover challenging R&D projects.
The meeting discussed promoting education for LG Electronics H&A business headquarters employees and expanding employment programs for UNIST students at LG Electronics, including the selection of LG Track industry-academic scholarships.
