Are you a passionate researcher looking for an exceptional opportunity to advance your research career? Consider applying for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships and unlock the door to a world of research excellence in Estonia!

Why choose Estonia?

Estonia, a hub of innovation and cutting-edge research, offers a vibrant ecosystem for postdoctoral researchers. With its state-of-the-art facilities, collaborative environment, and a strong commitment to research and development, Estonia is the perfect place to enhance your research career.

One application, three funding opportunities!

By applying for an MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship you’re not just applying for a single funding opportunity. You’re unlocking three potential pathways to support your research journey in Estonia. But how does it work?
The researcher, together with the Estonian research institution and supervisor, submits an application to the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship call (LINK here), which usually closes in mid-September (11th of September this year);

1. The first opportunity is to receive funding from the MSCA Postdoctoral Measure. The MSCA is prestigious and well-funded, and leaves a positive mark on a researcher’s CV.

2. If an application exceeds the quality threshold, but is not funded in the MSCA selection process, it will automatically go forward to the ERA Fellowship call. The ERA fellowships have been established to support a limited number of countries (including Estonia) in order to balance the mobility flows of researchers.

3. Those proposals above the quality threshold that did not receive funding from Horizon Europe – neither from MSCA nor ERA Fellowships –  can in turn be submitted to the Estonian Research Council (ETAG). ETAG will fund these projects without any further scientific assessment, although an additional explanation of the area must be provided. More information: HERE

To integrate into Estonia’s research community, it is now crucial to apply for an MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship, as this represents the main pathway for international researchers to initiate their postdoctoral endeavors in Estonia.
