“As our ISSCR journal, Stem Cell Reports has a strong history and reputation for publishing excellence and driving important conversations through commentaries that shape our field,” said Amander T. Clark, ISSCR President. “Martin Pera and Christine Mummery have established an enduring legacy as our first two editors-in-chief, and I am delighted to welcome Janet to take on this position and continue that legacy as she brings her deep experience and dedication to stem cell research to the journal.”

Janet Rossant, CC, PhD, FRS, FRSC is an internationally recognized developmental and stem cell biologist, exploring the biology of the early embryo and its stem cells and their applications to understanding and treating human disease. She has also been actively involved in ethics and public policy discussions around stem cell research and genetic modifications. She is a member of Royal Societies of London and Canada and the National Academy of Sciences, USA. Dr. Rossant served as ISSCR President in 2013-2014 and remains actively involved with the Society, contributing to initiatives including the ISSCR Guidelines for Stem Cell Research and Clinical Translation, is a member of the Stem Cell Reports Editorial Board, and has served on numerous ISSCR committees and task forces.

“I am excited to take on the role of Editor-in-Chief for Stem Cell Reports,” Janet Rossant said. “Under the leadership of Christine Mummery and Martin Pera, the journal has established a strong reputation for publishing rigorous and important work in basic stem cell biology, preclinical and clinical translation. It also serves as a place for debates on ethics and regulatory aspects of stem cell research. I look forward to hearing from the broad stem cell community on your ideas for how the journal can best serve your needs in the future.”

“I was delighted to learn that Janet Rossant will be taking over as Editor-In-Chief of Stem Cell Reports next year,” Martin Pera said. “Janet is a world-renowned figure in developmental biology and stem cell research, and she will bring a wealth of expertise and insight to the role.
