Nicolas Hubert has been appointed Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Zoosystematics and Evolution (ZSE), one of the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin open-access journals published by Pensoft and hosted on ARPHA Platform. He will support Editor-in-Chief Thomas von Rintelen in managing the academic outlet and driving further development and growth.
A Research Director at the Institute of Research for Development (IRD) in Montpellier, Nicolas is an ichthyologist and geneticist with particular interest in the mechanisms behind the gradients of diversity and establishment of aquatic fauna in the tropics. As an established subject editor for ZSE, he brings plenty of experience and knowledge of the journal to the role.
“I joined the editorial board in 2020 as a section editor for fishes, and I have been particularly impressed by the dynamism of the community surrounding the journal. Attracting colleagues from around the world, the journal hosts a wealth of biodiversity research and demonstrates that taxonomy and systematics remain vibrant and evolving fields. It is a great pleasure and an honor to be given the opportunity to further serve the journal community as Deputy Editor-in-Chief. I look forward to handling new manuscripts at Zoosystematics and Evolution and to continuing my interactions with our community.”
- Nicolas Hubert, Deputy Editor-in-Chief.
“Nicolas has been supporting ZSE for five years and has been by far the most active subject editor since he joined the team, handling more than 90 manuscripts in a highly efficient manner. I am extremely pleased that Nicolas has now agreed to extend his support of the journal by becoming Deputy Editor-in-Chief. His immense experience and expertise as a vertebrate zoologist will be invaluable in ensuring that ZSE will continue to attract high-quality contributions from the global community of systematic zoologists.”
- Thomas von Rintelen, Editor-in-Chief
“We are delighted to welcome Nicolas Hubert as Deputy Editor-in-Chief to the editorial team of the ZSE. The Coordination office for scientific publishing has supported the journal for many years in its development as an open-access journal of the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin – working closely with the editorial board, the publisher, and other partners. The appointment of Nicolas Hubert sends a strong signal for the journal’s future growth and continued international visibility. We thank all those involved for their ongoing commitment and look forward to continuing this successful collaboration.”
