June issues of APA journals feature new research on treatment for depression and psychosis and more

The latest issues of two American Psychiatric Association journals (The American Journal of Psychiatry and Psychiatric Services) are now available online.

 

The June issue of The American Journal of Psychiatry brings together new research on depression, inflammation and postpartum psychosis. Highlights of the issue include:
 

  • Reduced Brain Responsiveness to Emotional Stimuli with Escitalopram But Not Psilocybin Therapy for Depression
  • Systemic Inflammation and Anhedonic Responses to an Inflammatory Challenge in Adults With Major Depressive Disorder: A Randomized Controlled Trial (AJP Deputy Editor Danny Pine highlights the study in this video). 
  • Treating Depression with Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation: A Clinician’s Guide.


Also, two studies on postpartum risk of mental disorders that were featured at a special media briefing held at the APA Annual Meeting, Read more.
