ROCKVILLE, MD – The Obesity Society (TOS), the leading organization of scientists and health professionals devoted to understanding and reversing the epidemic of obesity, has announced Sherlyn Celone-Arnold, M.S., as its new CEO, following the retirement of her predecessor, Anthony Comuzzie, Ph.D., FTOS. Celone-Arnold has worked as a strategic partner to TOS since 2019 and joined the organization earlier this year as its first Chief Strategy Officer.
Ms. Celone-Arnold has over 20 years of experience helping organizations become industry pacesetters by pioneering innovative business strategies, designing award-winning educational solutions for healthcare providers and patients, and conducting outcomes-oriented quality improvement initiatives for health systems that significantly improve quality of care and patient health. In her time working with TOS, she has driven growth opportunities for the organization, improved organizational performance, and enhanced operational excellence.

Prior to joining TOS, Ms. Celone-Arnold served as Vice President of Educational Strategy at the National Association for Continuing Education. She was also the Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Integrated Learning Partners, LLC, where she led an international team of consultants and advised world renowned academic centers, medical/professional societies, and for-profit health education companies on practice transformation, strategic business planning, continuing medical education programming, and educational research initiatives.
