New BfR website is online

Optimised risk communication for consumer health protection

Business Announcement

BfR Federal Institute for Risk Assessment

The new website has been developed with a focus on mobile use, so that the more than 1,000 pages and over 10,000 German and English publications such as opinions, communications, FAQ, brochures and videos on food, product and chemical safety topics can be accessed at any time while being on the go.

The guiding principle of the redesign is to offer content tailored to the target groups and to provide different introductions in the wide range of topics at the BfR. The website content ranges from easy-to-understand information and consumer tips for the interested public to specific expertise for experts in the fields of food, product and chemical safety as well as laboratory animal protection and risk communication. With the relaunch, the BfR is continuing the process of renewing its corporate design with a modernised logo and clear design.

An important focus of the relaunch was on an optimised search function and intuitive navigation in a clearly structured menu, so that the BfR's main topics can be better understood at a glance and users can access the topics in a more targeted manner.

Our topics from A-Z on food, product and chemical safety provide quick and direct access to the most important topics at the BfR.

New opinions now appear as HTML pages with a user-friendly table of contents in order for the readers to be able to navigate directly to the content relevant to them. As usual, the opinions are also available as PDF files.

To our opinions

The glossary of common terms used in risk assessment and risk communication from the BfR guideline for risk assessment has been integrated into the website in order to improve the comprehensibility of the statements for a broad readership.
