Ivanov from Imperial College London; Dr. Xiang Lan from Donghua University; Dr. Daishun Ling from Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Dr. Guofeng Liu from Tongji University; Dr. Jian-Wei Liu from University of Science and Technology of China; Dr. Xiaoguo Liu from Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Dr. Jianqin Lu from The University of Arizona; Dr. Li-Bo Mao from University of Science and Technology of China; Dr. Masaki Saruyama from Kyoto University; Dr. Guangcun Shan from Beihang University; Dr. Ho Cheung Shum from City University of Hong Kong; Dr. Wen Sun from Dalian University of Technology; Dr. Ye Tian from Nanjing University; Dr. Peng-peng Wang from Xi’an Jiaotong University; Dr. Dayong Yang from Fudan University; Dr. Ming Yang from Jilin University; Dr. Xianzhu Yang from South China University of Technology; Dr. Xingchen Ye from Indiana University; Dr. Taotao Zhuang from University of Science and Technology of China.
The NR45 Awards aims to recognize young researchers under the age of 45 for their distinguished accomplishments and/or their great potential to make substantial contributions in various fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Since the inaugural NR45 Awards launched in 2018, 211 innovators in nanobiotechnology, nanoenergy, two-dimensional materials, nanocatalysis, bio-inspired nanomaterials, and nanomaterial self-assembly have been honored.
The focus of the 2024 NR45 Awards is on nanomaterial self-assembly. All the awardees were invited to submit research or review papers that underwent through a rigorous peer-review process. Nano Research has published a Special Issue featuring their work in Volume 18, Issue 7, 2025. In this special issue, 12 research articles and 12 review articles have been released at the journal home. In conclusion, this special issue underscores the breadth of nano self-assembly research, spanning synthesis, characterization, and applications.
Since young scientists are generally more active, energetic, and innovative, Nano Research attaches great importance to the wonderful work from young scientists. The editorial office would quickly review young scientists’ papers and provide convenient academic services for them. Nano Research will announce the selection details of the next NR45 Awards soon. All researchers in the community would be welcome to nominate exceptional young innovators across diverse fields for future NR45 awards.
