Palo Alto, CA and Bethesda, MD (Aug. 26, 2025) – American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) is proud to announce a new collaboration with, Latica, a leader in real-world clinical data and artificial intelligence-driven research solutions, to support a real-world evidence initiative: the IBD Living Guidelines Real-World Evidence Study. The study will be powered by Latica’s proprietary data platform and robust clinical datasets, in partnership with Latica’s GI Network, starting with data from Gastro Health and Allied Digestive Health, two of the largest and most respected community gastroenterology practices in the U.S.
This initiative is designed to evaluate the clinical and operational impact of AGA’s first living guideline, a modern, iterative framework for the management of ulcerative colitis, one of two main types of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Unlike static clinical guidelines, these living guidelines evolve alongside advances in therapy and practice, supporting physicians with up-to-date decision-making tools.
Through this collaboration, Latica will provide secure, de-identified data from community gastrointestinal (GI) practices and apply its advanced technology to uncover real-world insights on treatment adoption, care pathways, and patient outcomes. These findings will empower AGA and the GI community to optimize care, shape treatment strategies, and enhance physician education — driving measurable improvements in IBD patient care.
“With the IBD treatment landscape changing so rapidly, it’s vital to understand how new guidelines are being implemented in the real world,” said Dr. Lawrence Kim, president of AGA. “This collaboration with Latica allows us to evaluate the impact of the living guidelines on patients, practices, and payors. It’s an essential step in ensuring evidence-based care translates into improved outcomes.”
“Latica is proud to support AGA and our partners at Gastro Health and Allied Digestive Health in this transformative project,” said Omer Dror, CEO and co-founder of Latica. “By unlocking real-world clinical data and extracting structured insights from unstructured documentation, we are empowering evidence generation at a new level of depth and precision.”
“This collaboration is an exciting opportunity to translate real-world evidence into actionable insights that directly enhance patient care,” said Dr. Eugenio Hernandez, chief medical officer at Gastro Health. “By combining our extensive clinical expertise with Latica’s advanced AI, we can better understand how guidelines perform in everyday practice, identify opportunities for improvement, and ultimately deliver more personalized and effective care for our patients.”
“Partnering in this initiative reflects our commitment to setting the standard of care in gastroenterology,” said Dr. Nadeem Baig, vice president and chief medical officer of Allied Digestive Health. “By leveraging Latica’s powerful AI, we can assess how the latest IBD guidelines are being applied in community settings and ensure our physicians are equipped to deliver the highest quality, most compassionate care possible. This collaboration reinforces our vision to lead through innovation and elevate outcomes for the patients and communities we serve.”
The IBD Living Guidelines Real-World Evidence Study marks a pivotal moment in translating evidence-based guidance into practice, bridging the gap between research and real-life outcomes through the power of community-based data and cutting-edge AI.
